Hallo,
ear Christoph,
Thank you for your help!
This is all that I know of my great grandmother's family.
Her marriage document name is Johanna Amalie Erhardine Drees. Born in the united states Dec. 26 1869
Her mother was Lina Schreiber. Born November 4th 1832 in Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen), Germany (according USA death record). In some documents her name is spelled Lena and in one it was Helena. A cousin thinks her real name may have been Frankalina. So there are questions about her given name.
Lina and her father (or father-in-law?), Erhard Schreiber, departed Bremen, Germany and arrived in Baltimore, USA on August 12, 1869 aboard the ship "North German Bark Inca"
The ship passenger manifest says they were from Oldenburg, Lower Saxony. I do not know if they were born there. It says Erhard was a merchant. It also says he was 50 but the USA Census of 1870 says he was 59. So it is difficult to know his year of birth. I believe he was born approximately in 1811
Lina married the widower, Andreas Muller (also a German immigrant), on Dec 23, 1869 - three days before her daughter Johanna was born in Illinois, USA.
Sorry, but that is all I have that may be relevant to German records. I hope you are able to find something.
Thank you very much,
Jacob
