they were distinguished by an addition - namely the mention of their father's name.

User722, that makes sense. I am trying to verify my hunch that Christian Maier married to Ursula Schlenker (1st wife who died) then married Maria Schlenker (2nd wife) whom I believe may be his first wife's brother's widow. There are so many Schlenckers!
