Stapelfeldt family archives Schleswig Holstein-Oldelsoe 1830

Good day to you all.

I trust you are well.
Please forgive me should I have approached my request in an incorrect manner,Iam new to the forum,Iam hoping I do not offend any members of the forum.

I write to you from South Africa.

I write to you with a matter which is close to my heart.
I am currently constructing my family tree which has taken me back to my German heritage to around 1833.

Iam trying to find information on my ancestors in the Oldesloe region dating back to the 1800's.

My great great great grandfather Fritz Johannes Stapelfeldt wasa military officer in the British German Legion which set sail to South Africa in 1856. According to his military documents,Fritz was 22 years old at that time.
Fritz did not return to Germany, instead he met and settled down in South Africa with my great great great grandmother Anna Maria Busaak, together they had 2 daughters and 5 sons.
Iam fourth generation grandson.

My request is to seek assistance with tracing records for Fritz or his family. His military documents note Oldelsloe as his place of enlistment in 1856, his next of kin was Fri Stapelfeldt also from Oldelsloe.
I do have copies of military documents for Fritz should you require more information.

Would it be possible for you to guide me to possibly locating church records of around 1830 which may indicate his parents and possible siblings of Fritz Johannes Stapelfeldt in the Oldelsloe region?

With your help I am able to narrow down the church where Fritz Stapelfeldt or his family fellowshipped, possibly finding birth or baptism records or marriage records of his parents.

I thank you for your guidance, I thank you for your kind assistance.
Take care, God Bless.
Many thanks

Good evening,

in order to learn a bit more about this website and its offerings, you should first switch the side language to English >> upper right corner click on DE and select EN instead.

Now looks thru various menus and sub-menues.

That way you will also learn about Archion‘s search functionality.

A search for digital available church registers for

Oldesloe
or
Bad Oldesloe

will only turn up one(!) church register -a military one for a really limited time frame in the 1860s/1870s-, everything else for „Oldesloe“ isn‘t available as of yet.

Please also be aware that Archion provides access -for subscribers- to Evangelical/Lutheran church registers only.

Kind regards
Vera

Hello Vera.
Thank you for your help.
I have been playing around with the search sites.
Iam not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to technology. I become a bit muddled up.

I tried seaching in Schleswig, there seems to be many options.
My challenge is,I reach a name of a church and region. The screen basically gives you a date of start and an ending date.
There are no options to open to view the information.
Is that normal or am I misunderstanding how it all works.
Please guide me on how I can view the information in order to search for possible family records.
I thank you for your time.
If you prefer,I could communicate via email.
My email is noelstapelfeldt@gmail.com

Many thanks

Hello Noel,

you can only view the effective church register images after buying a so-called Archion Pass / Passport.

Please also be aware that there are no indexed records available on Archion - say, in order to i.e. find a birth/baptism record (or any other sort of record) for an ancestor one needs to browse image by image.
