Help needed finding parents of Adolph C. Lohrmann

Adolph was born 19 August, 1853 in Schleswig-Holstein. Married Hane Friedricke Wilhelmina Lessmann, date unknown. Residence listed on ship manifest when they immigrated to the USA was listed as Lunden. Adolph was my great grandfather and in the cemetery where many of my Lohrmann relatives are buried there is a headstone that just says Grandma Lohrmann. Family story is that she is Adolph's mother, but as an adult her grandson had a headstone placed on her grave, but couldn't remember her name since he just knew her as Grandma Lohrmann. I have been working for 3 years to give this woman a name and buy her a new headstone. Any help would be much appreciated.

Marriage of Friedrich Wilhelm in 1879


Also found a "Johanna Friederike Wilhelmina Leßmann" in Bexterhagen in North Rhine-Westphalia.

She was born in 1858, in the same tiny village (roughly 300 inhabitants in 1860), and about the same time as "Friederike Caroline Amalie Leßmann", born in 1856, daughter of "Carl Wilhelm Leßmann", who moved with his family to Schleswig-Holstein, as Friederike marries a Lunden postman in 1889. Maybe the girls were cousins, and Hanna's family went to the North as well (or, maybe it's just a strange coincidence).

Nevertheless, the fathers were workers/brickmakers, stemming from the same region. As "Sieweke" seems to be a local (link doesn't work, just type "Sieweke") name, Wiebke Catharina might also be born near Detmold. Here the birth of their first child Wiebke Katharine Wilhelmine 1875 in Lunden (died 1879). It is mentioned, that the mother was 28 years old at that time. So I'm not sure, that the birth in Bexterhagen is the correct person.

Johanna Friederike Wilhelmine Leßmann is born on 27th September 1850, baptism unknown. She was confirmed on 4th March 1866. Her mother is Katharina Leßmann né Hansen. The father is not mentioned.

Based on all of your wonderful hints on Adolph Lohrmann's mother, Wiebke Catharina (nee Sieveke or Sieweke?) Behrends Lohrmann Welge I have been searching for her birth/baptism record, confirmation record, engagement/marriage records and have not had a lot of luck. From your hints she was possibly born in Bendfeld in 1815, I looked in baptism records for Neukirchen in Holstein and on the bottom left hand side of page 149 and entry for January 1814 might be her? 10.16.23 are the numbers (what do they mean?) in the column next to the name. This date would fit with her being 28 in1842 when her first child, Johann was born in Hemme. It also lines up with her being 43 in 1857 when her 8th child was born in Lunden. Locations I am searching are Bendfeld, Hemme and Lunden. If I search all archives. Dithmarschen District Bendfeld is not listed, is it in a different district, or are there just no records for Bendfeld? In looking through the confirmation records in Hemme, 1826-1830 there are a number of Wiebkes listed, but the last names don't seem to fit. But reading the script is very hard! Engagement/ marriage records for Hemme don't include dates for when she was possibly engaged. Her first husband was Claus Behrends, he died in 1851 in Lunden. I found his burial record on page 141 on the right hand side of the page and it lists Wiebke, Johann and another child Hermann, but I can't read/understand some other words in the entry and don't know what the numbers to the left of the name mean. She married Christian Lohrmann in 1853 in Hemme, he died in 1853 in Lunden. I looked in the marriage records for Hemme 1844-1882, looks like only grooms names are listed (?) and there are no Behrends or Lohrmanns listed. I would be so grateful if any of you can help!

This was the second marriage of Christian Philipp Lohrmann. Hist first wife was the younger sister of Wiebke Catharia Sieweke/Sieveke, "Anthje" (*4th April 1827 in Neuenkirchen, +16th July 1852). She died at the age of 25, buried in Hemme. No children.

The Father of the Sieveke sisters, "Johann Herrmann Adolph Sieveke" died eight months later aged 71 in Hemme. He's supposed to be born in Augustdorf (just as Christian Philipp).

The Mother, "Antje, née Berghahn", died aged 74 in 1861 in Hemme. She is from "Esch", Süderdithmarschen (Eesch?).

Her birth record (as well as the marriage record with her first husband Claus Behrend) is still to be found. We know that she might be born around 1812 (that's what the marriage record with Christian Philipp Lohrmann says), and that her younger sister (first wife of Christian Phillipp Lohrmann) was born in Neuenkirchen (Dithmarschen), see above.

Her father ist from Augustdorf in the Lippe area (North Rhine-Westphalia), her Mother from Dithmarschen, so it's not clear yet whether they married in the Lippe area, or in Schleswig-Hostein, or somewhere else.

The records we found so far are all linked. I agree, some of them are very hard to read. Just refer to the specific record you cannot decipher, and if possible, create a so called permalink by clicking on the Link symbol, then copy the link, and paste it here. Someone will be found who is going to help and "translate", I guess.

Concerning the death record of Claus Behrend. It's the date of death (18th February) and burial (23rd February).

Tried to figure out where the couple Wiebke Catharina and her first husband Claus Behrend lived.
In 1843, when their first child was born, they lived in Österfeld. Baptism of "Herrmann Christian" took place in St. Annen nearby.
By the time of his confirmation (1864), they had moved to Lehe (adjacent to Lunden), as the 1860 census data reflects.

No trace of the first child, so far.

As far as "Bendfeld" ist concerned. This hint origins from the 1860 census, with two question marks attached. There is a Bentfeld about 30 km from Augustdorf, where her father is said to be born. But it*s a catholic area.
