I found a confirmation entry for my ancestor, Thomas Motz, in the Bessungen records 1658-1694, image 32. I have browsed the entire section and cannot determine the year of the confirmation. Are the confirmations dated by year?

I found a confirmation entry for my ancestor,
I am confused. The title of this church book says Confirmations and Communion Registers. In these section they also list "circümcisions", but I thought this only a Jewish practice. I tried using a translator for the term, so maybe it means something completely different.Caution please!
These are not confirmation entries, but instead entries for communicants (communicants / communion participants).
And yes, they are recorded by year and Sundays when these people attended Holy Communion / Supper.
That makes sense, thank you!Perhaps the communions or whatever took place on the Day of "Circumcisio Christi", which is usually on January 1.
Thank you, your explanation has helped me understand. I was looking for confirmations to make up for missing birth/baptism records so I could narrow down the year of birth. I have taught myself to recognize the old German handwriting for names, but I don't speak German and deciphering other things are often difficult.Confirmation is celebrated for 13 / 14 year old children!
(In general not for adults, married couples etc..... as you find them recorded in the communions registers / section with the church register in question. )
It's mainly celebrated once a year in early spring in the time between Easter and Pentecost; at max twice a year, second time in early harvest - but not on multiple Sunday's during the Christian year as Holy Communion / Supper is!
