Hello!
I'm trying to trace Johannes Scherer (von Hamm) and Katharina Schumacher (von Hangen-Weisheim). My question is, where would their marriage most likely have taken place, if not in Hamm? (Records don't exist for that time in Hangen-Weisheim.)
As far as I know, their first child was born in 1782 in Hamm: https://www.archion.de/p/74022f639b/
That baptism is the farthest back I can go with that family. I have checked every city in Dekanat Osthofen for the marriage, as well as some cities in the surrounding area. I also looked at the cities of Worms and Alzey. Any ideas where else I could or should look?
*I have a theory that this may be the same Johannes Scherer who was widowed in 1779: https://www.archion.de/p/9a5f4fdd1a/
The timeline could fit for a possible second marriage a couple years later. Also, this was the only Hamm death record I could find for a Johannes Scherer. He was 75 in 1801, which might support the theory: https://www.archion.de/p/d81bfd8664/
Thank you so much for your time and help!!
