Focus on Eating and Drinking: Archive Day
Every two years, the nationwide “Archive Day” draws public attention to the numerous social functions of archives. On these days, hundreds of archives of any kind open their doors for citizens, presenting themselves as modern service providers with exciting programs.
The motto of the next “Archive Day” on 02 and 03 March 2024 will be “Eating and Drinking”.
The tradition of “Archive Days” started in 2001. Since 2006, this campaign day has always been under a motto determined by the “Verband deutscher Archivarinnen und Archivare e.V.” (VdA, Association of German Archivists).

Archion at the Archive Day in Stuttgart
Archion will also be present at the Archive Day. On 02 March from 1 to 5 o’clock pm you can find us in the building of the Regional Church Archive Stuttgart and the Protestant University and Central Library Wurttemberg.
In addition to information on Archion, we have selected suitable church record entries that can be explored both as original documents and in digital form. Furthermore, the archive and the library offer a number of activities, including exhibitions, presentations, short lectures, guided tours, a creative writing workshop, and activities for children. The program is rounded off by a special culinary note: In accordance with this year’s motto “Eating and Drinking”, Swabian “Maultaschen” (filled pasta squares) will also be offered.
