As of now, ARCHION offers a new possibility to read and use church records for research even more conveniently: By means of AI-based text recognition, handwritten entries are transformed into easily readable text and made available in the viewer along with the original image. Thus, researchers interested in genealogy and history profit from faster and even easier access to valuable sources.

By means of the on-demand function, individual church book pages can be sent for transcription directly from the viewer. Only a few minutes later, the recognized text is available as an overlay on the image or continuous text alongside the source.

Furthermore, ARCHION continuously transcribes selected church book inventories in the background. Church books that have already been transcribed can be found and used via the location search function.
