Good evening,

bötticher = Böttcher

Regarding the record date: one should always have an eye on the dates preceding the record of interest, as well as to the one following the record.
That said (and with the understanding that records are recorded in correct sequence) it cannot be August 3rd here, right?

Regards,
Vera

Sinde I don't know whether your 2nd question has ever been answered (may be in a different thread) here's what it reads:

Marie Elisabeth Johanne

ist Friedrich Dentzlers, des Schaafknechts zu Retzau
(Ehefrau/gestrichen) ehel. Tochter welche ihm dn 18ten Maertz von
seiner Ehefrau Marie geb. Ruschinn gebohren und
den 22ten ej. getauft worden. Pathen waren

1) Mstr. Gottfr. Julius Pohlen, Einwohner, Schenck-
wirth, wie auch Huff- u. Waffenschmidt zu Retzau
2) Fr. anna Elis. Jägerinn, Dan. Jaegers, des
Schäfers zu Retzau Ehefrau
3) Jgfr. Mar. Elis. Ruschinn, N. N. Rusches, Ein-
wohners zu Priorau ehel. Tochter

Schenckwirth = Schankwirt / Wirt
Dentzlers = Dentzler
Pohlen = Pohl
Ruschinn/Rusches = Rusch
Jägerin/Jaegers = Jäger / Jaeger

Thank you very much, Vera! We had read what we could of this record before, but this is the first time that someone helps us complete the reading. :)

We now wonder if this is really the person we're looking for or if this could be a sister, because the order of the names is changed.

On these two records (marriage of Christoph Dänzler/Tänzer) it only says "Elisabeth":
http://www.archion.de/p/ca2e1d578e/
http://www.archion.de/p/56765a5d66/

On this other record (Christoph's baptism), it says "Johanne Elisabeth" (and also mentions her father's name, Friedrich):
http://www.archion.de/p/23caf883d7/

On this other record (Christoph's death), it says only "Johanne":
http://www.archion.de/p/09a9c0d80c/

And on this record you've just helped us read, it says "Marie Elisabeth Johanne":
http://www.archion.de/p/e4b1a3f14a/

The date is expected (she'd be 29 years old when Christoph was born), and also the name of the father. And we haven't found any other similar record. We wonder if there was a mistake somewhere about the orther of the names Elisabeth and Johanne or if we just haven't found the actual record.

Dan,

you know for sure

a) that Maria Elisabeth Johanna is a daughter of Friedrich Denzler/Dentzler/Dänzler, the shepherd, and

b) you know for sure that a daughter of Friedrich Denzler/Dentzler/Dänzler, named Elisabeth Johanna and/or various combinations thereof, had an illegitimate boy-child Christoph.

So the only way to make sure that you‘ve found the correct person, is to closely research Friedrich Denzler/Dentzler/Dänzler immediate family - say: which children (especially female ones) did he have?

Is there perhaps another girl-child with a similar given name combination? And if so, did this girl also reach adult age or did any die as infants?
...and so on...

BG, Vera

That's outstanding! When we saw this list we couldn't believe how you were able to find so many records so fast. Then we've finally learned about the value of the namenregister books, which Dessau has. We had little time, but we found a lot of information. :D

Unfortunately, our one month subscription is now over. We'll now take some time to focus on other sources, but, as soon as we resume our research at Archion, we hope to talk to you again here at the forum. Until then, we'll keep learning more about the subject, which is fascinating.

Thank you very much, Vera, for all your attention. You've helped us a lot! :)
