Wintersheim Records

Good morning.

Don't you research an "Eller" family?

Here's i.e. a 1799 birth/baptism in the Wintersheim church registers

...or here one in 1803

...or here for instance a 1812 marriage

In case that isn't the family you're looking for, at least the records are available, right?

Kind regards.

Hi @vnagel2004. Thank you. That's so kind. I have been researching the Eller line in Eimsheim. However, in Wintersheim, I am researching the Köbel family, specifically the family of Peter, son of Samuel Köbel. I find them in the 1760s up to 1790s in the Alsheim books. In Wintersheim, I can't find the family again until 1820s/30s. I'm trying to understand why that could be.

Peter's 1790 marriage record in Alsheim book: https://www.archion.de/p/3cc280d704/

Peter Köbel is also mentioned here in 1798 in Wintersheim: https://www.archion.de/p/14e5998acb/

I believe the family stayed in Wintersheim, but records are missing. For instance, I can't find the baptism record for Peter's child (also named Peter) born about 1801/1802. Is it just the water damage that I can't see past?

Thank you again!

Also, my apologies, as my first post was unclear. I forgot that the gap was technically covered in one of the books (1760-1828). I meant to imply that maybe there was a book missing from the one that stopped in 1798 and then started in 1827, but I'm not sure if that's a different church or what, as some years would be covered twice?

Thank you, @Anne23. Everyone is so kind and helpful on this website! :)

I have been working on the family tree, but records are missing. After 1798, the family is no longer recorded in the Alsheim books. I would think that they would then appear in the Wintersheim books, but I can't find them until about 1820. For instance, the baptism of Peter's son (also named Peter) should be around 1801, but the record is missing. Perhaps there is another sibling not recorded as well. I don't believe the family moved to a different city, though I did check other churchbooks in Dekanat Osthofen.

I noticed that book 1 is 1760-1828, book 2 is 1761-1798, and book 3 is 1827-1860. I wondered if maybe there was a church whose records are missing between book 2 and 3, but I just don't know. I am not sure where else to look or to just accept that the family wasn't recorded for some years.
