Liebe Forschungsfreunde,

ich suche die Herkunft eines Heuermann-Paares aus dem Kirchspiel Goldenstedt im ehemaligen Großherzogtum Oldenburg:

- Johann Friedrich Flege (Sr.) — Heuermann bei Conrad König zu Goldenstedt
- Anna Catharina, geb. Rüthopp — Hofname aus der Bauerschaft Rüthorpe (Kirchspiel Goldenstedt)

Zwei Kinder des Paares sind im Goldenstedter Mischbuch 1820-1856 belegt:

- Heinrich Flege, geb. 24. Nov. 1821 (Eintrag 23 des Jahrgangs 1821)
- Johann Friedrich Flege jr., geb. 16. März 1824, getauft 17. März 1824 (Bild 107, Eintrag 6)

Beide Söhne wanderten später nach Baltimore, Maryland (USA) aus — Heinrich 1842, Johann Friedrich 1843, beide ab Bremen.

Was ich suche:

1. Heirat des Paares — vermutlich vor März 1820. Das Goldenstedter Trauregister beginnt erst am 1. März 1820, mit einer Randnotiz, daß die Einträge 1820-1822 aus alten Briefen abgeschrieben seien; das ältere Original ist offenbar verloren. Heirateten sie womöglich in einer Nachbargemeinde? Gibt es ein Verzeichnis verlorener Goldenstedter Kirchenbücher?

2. Taufe von Johann Friedrich Sr. (~1780-1795) — vermutlich Kirchspiel Goldenstedt oder Umgebung. Im Archion-Bestand sind Goldenstedter Taufen 1789-1813 vorhanden; bevor ich Seite für Seite durchgehe, wäre jeder Hinweis auf Heuermann-Familien Flege willkommen.

3. Taufe von Anna Catharina Rüthopp (~1780-1800) — vermutlich Goldenstedt, da der Hofname Rüthorpe innerhalb der Pfarrei liegt.

4. Hintergrund zum Hof Conrad König in Goldenstedt — wo lag dieser Hof genau, und welche Heuermann-Familien sind dort bekannt?

5. Sterbedaten des Paares — vermutlich zwischen 1830 und 1860, wahrscheinlich noch in Goldenstedt. Das Beerdigungsverzeichnis habe ich noch nicht durchgesehen.

Über jeden Hinweis — auch bruchstückhaft — wäre ich sehr dankbar. Quellen tausche ich gerne in beide Richtungen.

Thank you for pointing me to the Colnrade Namensregister 1720–1852 — this looks very promising. I can see an entry for Jof. Friedrich Flege, born 1770, with what appears to be a marriage entry in the Trauungsbuch column. Could you confirm what the spouse's surname says on that line, and the year of the marriage? If it reads "Rüthopp" (or a variant spelling), that would match the mother named in the 1821 and 1824 Goldenstedt baptisms.

If this is the right Johann Friedrich, I'd like to find his own baptism record to identify his parents. Do you know what baptism books Archion has for Colnrade that would cover a birth around 1770?

(I'm switching to English going forward — my German is rusty enough that I'd rather not risk misreading a reply on something this important.)

This is page 38 of the Colnrade Namensregister 1720–1852 (Kirchenkreis Syke). Under the family name "Flege," there is an entry for "Jof. Friedrich, born 1770" with what appears to be a marriage entry in the Trauungsbuch column. I am hoping someone can confirm the spouse surname written in that column — if it reads "Rüthopp" (or a variant), it would match the mother of my ancestor Johann Friedrich Flege Jr. (b. 1824, Goldenstedt).
 
Thank you — that is exactly what we needed. The 1816 entry is clear: Johann Friedrich Flege, Heuermann in Goldenstedt (Oldenburg), legitimate son of the late Herrmann Flege, married Anna Catharine Ruthop, daughter of Johann Dietrich Ruthop, current householder in Goldenstedt. Married 1 March 1816 in Colnrade.

This confirms that Johann Friedrich Sr. originated from Colnrade parish, and explains why no marriage appeared in the Goldenstedt books. I have updated the family tree accordingly.

The next step is to find Johann Friedrich Sr.'s own baptism in Colnrade (~1770) to identify his mother and Herrmann Flege's full family. I will look through the Colnrade Kirchenbuch 1720–1842 for that entry.

Update on our research: I have been browsing the Colnrade Kirchenbuch 1720-1842 and Name Register 1720-1852.

In the name register I found the entry for "Jof. Friedrich Flege – 1770." The wedding book column confirms the Rüthop marriage in 1816, but the baptism book page is blank — no baptism page number recorded. Does this mean his baptism record was missing or damaged when the index was compiled?

I also found "Harm Flege – 1728" with a wedding book entry for 1768, page 654. This Hermann Flege was Johann Friedrich Sr.'s father (confirmed deceased by 1816 in the marriage record). Can you help find his wife's name from the 1768 marriage on page 654? She would be Johann Friedrich's mother.
