Thank you for replying. This is another mystery - I have a child born to Maria Catharina Kraemer and Friedrich Rothenberger in 1815, this child in 1816, and additional children in 1819, 1822, 1826, and 1830. But I have never found a marriage for Friedrich Rothenberger (born in Eichloch and died in Worrstadt) and Maria Catharina Kraemer (born and died in Worrstadt).

Were children from an unwed couple typically baptized with the name of the father?
