Please help me with this marriage record

https://www.archion.de/p/57ebdafc9d/
I am interested in the marriage record of Hannss Vogel, son of Hannss Vogel the bricklayer in Alfeld, Bayern on the 29th of April, 1715. I can see that the bride's name is Margaretha but I can't find her maiden name. From their son Johann Georg Vogel's baptism record in 1717, I expect her name to be Krazer or Krazor, or maybe Kreuzer? Can anyone read the other words in this record? I would appreciate any help.

Thank you,
Jean USA

Hello Jean,

yes, Krazer seems to be the correct spelling.

Reg. the marriage record (I will standardize the spelling of given names):
the groom Hans Vogel is a soon-to-be bricklayer in Alfeld.
His father Hans, too, is a bricklayer.
Hans jr is Hans sr's legitimate son (as in not born out of wedlock).

The bride is Margaretha Krazer.
Her late(!) father's name was Wolfgang.
Wolfgang Krazer was an "Inwohner".

You may already know, but Inwohner is a rather ambiguous term.
It likely relates to a kind of lodger.
In some cases though, it may refer to someone living in a house within the actual village or town (compare with modern German "Einwohner"), rather than living on one of the farms outside of the settlement.

I am not familiar enough with the Alfeld area to tell you more about that. For the same reason I am not in the position to decipher Margaretha's and Wolfgang's home town, sorry. For that, you might want to send in a seperate request.

I hope this was helpful
Daniel

additional note / final sentence of this record:

die Hur ist 8 Wochen hernach [nach der Hochzeit] ins Kindbette kommen.

This hoe's labor work started 8 weeks after the wedding.

To use such drastic terms for women having sexual relationships prior to getting married are kind of usual for priests of this time period.

Greetings, Vera
