Seeking help with the entry on the top of the left page: Martin. Also, the entries don't appear to be in date order - might the year be 1636? Thank you.
Anno 1636 Uff Martinitag (ist) Heinrich Grob
und Elisabeth seiner Hausfrau ein Sohn
getauft und Martin genandt, Martin Schirmer
zu Jünckersbach (war) Gevatter
The entries on the right page in this link seem to be the same family. I have not traced this family back before 1673 - the birth of Johann Peter Groh near Michelstadt. It looks like one of these new entries may mention Michelstadt (near Brombachtal)?
Up until now, the family name appears as "GROH," "GROHE," "GROW" and "GROWE."
Do people here (with more experience than myself) think it may be possible this is the same family? Just wondering about other peoples opinions - I am afraid I do not have enough knowledge to make a decision.
This entry from an Altlussheim Family Book mentions Martin Groh (father of Peter Grow). Martin and his wife (Magdalena) are who I am searching for.
Just had a look at the first link:
Yes, all entries are kids of the same parents:
1646 Kunigunda
1649 Johann Heinrich
1650 Philip
1654 Elisabeth
At the birth entry of Philip 1650:
...
Philips genandt, Hans Schifters Sohn Philip zu
Michelsbach war Gevatter.
Possible that the different writing forms belong to the same family. The writer wrote what he was told, had heard etc.
For my last name with 12 letters I have more than 120 versions
Maybe you check for locations: https://www.meyersgaz.org
Just type the location, then check map etc.
Source is from around 1900.
Just to get an idea of the surroundings.
(The scientific method is an empirical method of acquiring knowledge that has characterized the development of science since at least the 17th century. It involves careful observation, applying rigorous skepticism about what is observed, given that cognitive assumptions can distort how one interprets the observation.) It involves formulating hypotheses, via induction, based on such observations; experimental and measurement-based testing of deductions drawn from the hypotheses; and refinement (or elimination) of the hypotheses based on the experimental findings.

Thank you both for your replies. They are very helpful.
I thought the year read 1636. And I did not realize "Zell" is an actual town - I thought it referred to a small rural area outside of Michelstadt. Thank you for correcting me.
And many thanks for informing me of a Michelstadt OFB. SLCL.org (here in the US) has extensive holdings of OFBs from Germany and elsewhere. I have requested information from them today regarding Michelstadt. The library will perform lookups and email the results, free of charge. (Donations are welcome).
Is there a better place to share the OFBs listed at SLCL (St. Louis County Library) to inform other researchers who may be unaware?
Thank you for the link to the Michelstadt OFB. (I ordered this yesterday from the SLCL but now I do not have to wait for the information). I appreciate the reply.
