forgot something:

Hutmann (in this case!) = Schäfer = shepherd

For reference compare her father's profession (= Schaafknecht = shepherd's hand / shepherd's journeyman) as provided in Marie Elisabeth Johanne Dentzler's birth/baptism record.

Thanks a lot, Vera! Could you help me understand a few things, please? If I understand correctly, it says this person was the widow of Friedrich Dänzler, right? Her age on this date also helps with this, since she'd have been born around 1753.

So, if that's correct, she'd be the mother on this baptism record you've also read for us:
http://www.archion.de/p/e4b1a3f14a/

But then there's a difference on the surname of her father on the two records. On the death record, the surname of the father seems to be "Reinicke", while on the baptism record it says she'd have been born "Rusch".

Did I get that right or have I misunderstood?

Thanks!! :)

Yes, that is correct.

Yes, on that specific baptism record the child‘s maiden name is Rusch and on the quoted death record the provided maiden name is Reinicke.

Did you check if Friedrich Dentzler/Dänzler may have been married twice?

Did you find other children of Friedrich Dentzler/Dänzler? If so, what do those say regarding the mother‘s maiden name?

BG, Vera

With your help, we've seen that Friedrich Dentzler actually was married twice, and we learned a lot about this side of the family. As far as we can tell, that Marie Elisabeth Johanne Dänzler is the one we were looking for, since the information is consistent and we've found no better fit.

Thank you!! :)
