Death of Margaretha Catharina Matthess

I am sorry, but no.

Widow Margaretha Matthes, wife of the late Hans (Hanß) Bernhard Matthes

DOD is correct.

Thank you! I have a question for you. I have nearly finished my research now - and am writing my findings up into a book for my family. I now have 14 generations, starting with Martin Matthess as a Baker in Dorzbach, through 10 generations of Bakers and 3 further generations. My question is, would you like a copy of the book when finished so you wonderful translators can see what you are helping me to produce? I hope to finish before Christmas! If you would, then please just give me a contact name and address and I will send when done.

I only have 2 research questions left, but these may never be resolved. Can I get further back than Martin Matthess, death in Dorzbach in 1702. And the elusive Alfred Matthes who was 25 when the UK Census 1911 was done - and seems to have disappeared from all other records.

So thank you again to all the Translators on this Forum. Your work is fantastic and hugely appreciated!, Karen Appleyard (nee Matthes)

1687 Dörzbach

two burials for a Rosina Matthes, daughter of Martin M., des Gerichts…

One 18 years old, one 20 years old

So Martin Matthes should have married at least (most likely even way earlier than) 1667.

(Why „way earlier“ ? Because his age at death is provided as 79… years in 1702 which leads to a calculated (!) year of birth about 1623.)

(I trust you already have these two burials.)

Wow, thank you all. And I thought I had finished!
I will follow up all the Central Archive links. And I didn't have Jacob or the 2 Rosina's. Can you give for Jacob the name of his wife and date of wedding. Also, I'm afraid I can't decipher much on the burials for the Rosina's. Can you give me full names and dates again. Thanks, Sorry. Karen.

I also agree that I think Matin Matthess probably had 3 marriages; 1 earlier one for which I have no record. the 2nd to an unnamed woman with whom he had Johannes Bernhard, Jacob and the 2 Rosina's and the 3rd marriage to a Margaretha Catharina with whom he had a further 6 children.

(probably double entry for the same person - for a funeral in his absence)

So is Jacob's wife Rosina Schmidhans, and do I need to look further forward for the date of their marriage? This is like our 'calling of the Banns).
