Looking for information on Ceigersmidt, Caigrsmid, Ceigerschmid, Zeigerschmid, Sigersmith family. There are many different spellings to the surname but would like to know what it was in Germany and Czech Republic.

One person I'm trying to locate is my 3rd great grandfather. Joannes "John" Ceigerchmid born in Bohemia. Found a census says in Malin. He was born 1836 and died in 30 Jan 1911 in New York, USA.

Joannes married Maria "Anna" Lacina. She was born 1823 and died 22 Aug 1892 in New York, USA. She immigrated in 1873.

I'm not sure if the records are in Germany or Czech Republic. They were from Czech Republic, Bohemia but I'm guessing there might be some in Germany since they came from Germany to come here.

in Lippa / Lipova Arad, Romania have been also "Zeigerschmid".
Maybe same family ?
