Hello, I need some help in my research to find the Behr family. My ancestor Johanna Behr emigrated from Germany to Switzerland in 1845 and married and stayed in Switzerland until she died in 1855. Her death record and emigration record both state she was born 30 May 1820 in Egesheim, Spaichingen, Württemberg, Germany. I have looked at the Egesheim Catholic birth records and do not find her. All her vital records once in Switzerland were Protestant, so she was probably Protestant in a Catholic community. I have searched the Protestant birth records in the year 1820 for Tieringen, Spaichingen, Rietheim, Messsetten, and Aldingen. None have had Johanna Behr listed. Interestingly, I also have not seen the surname Behr in most of the records.
However, in the emigration records Johanna Behr, Elizabeth Behr, and Krescence Behr all emigrated in the 1835-1845 range. All listed they were from Egesheim going to Switzerland.
