Advice - Berlin Records

I have obtained much information through Archion and I have received so much assistance from the members here - thank you!

Please delete this entry if it is not in the correct forum.

I have found a possible death certificate for my 2nd great-grandfather on Ancestry.com. It only states that he is a widower and does not name his pre-deceased wife.

The transcription by Ancestry.com states that it is
CIVIL REGISTRATION OFFICE: Berlin X b

The death certificate names his residence as:
Berlin Weissenbergstrasse 38

I would like to find the church records associated with his death so that I may be able to learn additional information on him and his wife.

Based on the Civil Registration Office and his address, can anyone offer suggestions on which Berlin records to search in Archion? I searched in Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf.

The death certificate names his birthplace as Gernrode in Anhalt but I do not see those records on Archion.

Thank you and regards,

Ellen

civil registration office = Standesamt

(provides an historic overview about civil registrations offices of Berlin)

...search for X b
...and find this line: Berlin X b, X c Pankow

Are you 100% sure regarding Weissenbergstrasse??

I'd say there is no such street in Berlin - Weissenburgstrasse yes, however NO Weissenbergstrasse!

Other than that -sorry- besides all lengthy explanations I miss essential information like:

-full name of the deceased
-complete date of death of the deceased

BR, Vera

Thank you for replying. The street name could be what you indicated: Weissenburgstrasse.

I am sorry I did not include this information:

Deceased - AUGUST SCHIELE

Date of Death: 16 MAY 1900

Date of Birth: ~ 1826

Spouse: EMILIE HANKEL

I will look at the information you provided.

Regards,

Ellen
