Seeking possible translation help with the first (top left) entry. Thank you.

Hello Ellen,

I read:

Anno 1740 den 29 ....(9ber??? -> November) ist .....
und seiner Hauß-Frau Anna M...(ar-
garetha ein Söhnlein gebohren
den 30ten eiusdem getaufet worden
Taufzeugen waren Johann P..
Greiß und Johann Jacob Sch...
von Perleicheim (????) Es wurde ihm ...
Name Philipp Jacob gege...(-ben)

Year 1740 29 November (I think there is written 9ber, then it's November, doesn't look like Xber or Dzbr)
....... and his housewife Anna Margaretha
was born a little son and was baptized
30 same month
Godfathers have been Johann P... Greiß and Johann Jacob Sch...
from Perleicheim (don't know if this is right)
He was named Philipp Jacob

For the death entry dated 27 APRIL 1762, is the name Johann Christoph Kreiss?

Many of my fellow researchers of this family line, have the person named in this death entry as the father named in the 1740 baptism that I posted in my original post in this thread. I am seeking the input of other people - is it possible the name of the father in the 1740 baptism is Christoph? Thank you.

Regards,

Ellen

As Franz Ridler mentioned, the given name could be Stoffel, which is a short form of Christoph. Unfortunately the surname disappears in the fold.

Thank you. I did not realize there could be a connection between Stoffel and Christoph. But now that you have told me, it makes sense. Thank you for replying.

Kind regards,

Ellen
