In the middle of this record is, I think, Johann Friedrich Creuzenacher tochter Elisabeth Margreth Schmidt. I am trying to figure out how she fits into this 1687 record. My 7th-great-grandmother, Elisabetha Margaretha Creutznacher, married Johann Heinrich Raüsch in 1704. I think they are the same person but would have expected Elisabetha to be a child in 1687. That is why I was looking for someone to transcribe it.

Would it be possible for a child to be a godparent?

To become a godparent it is / and ever since was / required to be confirmed.

Confirmation age usually is about 13 or 14 years.

In kind of rare cases one finds unconfirmed children as godparents, but not without the explicit addition within the record that i.e. this child's mother (a confirmed person) represented her child.

Since you don't find such explicit note in the record in question this lady confirmed in order to be able to serve as a godparent.
