Where is "Burgermeistereiamt, Bruhl?"

I am researching Kuhl, Korth, and Herkenrath around Bruhl. Another researcher shows this birthdate and place. "6 JUL 1850 Burgermeistereiamt, Bruhl, Germany," but I cannot locate a town of that name or anything similiar in Meyer's Gazetteer. Does anyone have ideas what this might actually reference?
