Danke! I can usually work out the names and dates, but the "extras" are difficult. (The alphabet, the handwriting, and a language I barely know makes details a challenge!)

3) den 4 ten May. [1794] Balster Hillers, des wey[land] Lübbe
Hillers einziger Sohn, und Imcke Harms
des wey[land] Harm Jacobs Harms älteste Tochter.
Interesting that it says "enziger Sohn" because the baptism I have for him shows his parents having several. I wonder if the other boys died? Or if I have the wrong parents altogether?

I know this is 1764 birth is a little older than his death record (saying 40 years in 1807), but it fits with the 1778 Confirmation in St Joost (where he marries in 1794).

It mean,s he was the only living son at the time the record was written. So probably yes, his siblings died earlier. But that should be verified in the death records.

Don't rely on the age specifications in death records. They can be right, but deviations of multiple years are also not uncommon.

Exactly, a few years is entirely reasonable.

Thank you!
