Seeking help with the entry for Johann Valentin Rodenberger x Margaretha Zimmerin. I have been able to trace the Rothenberger (Rodenberger) line back quite far but have been stuck on my 6th great-grandmother. Margaretha Zimmer.

Does this entry say anything about Margaretha's father or what town she is from?

So to answer your question, the only information on her father ist:
he was the mine foreman.
 
Hello Ellen,

it means, that the groom and bride had to pay for the marriage service. That was normal practice.

The forename of her father is not mentioned.
But "allhier" means, that she was born in the same town, where her marriage took place.

Thank you for explaining.

I just looked through all the Worrstadt deaths from 1732-1791, hopefully looking for the name Zimmer who was a mine foreman. I did not see (from what I could read) any Zimmer deaths...

Is it possible Margaretha's father died prior to the marriage in 1732, or would the wording have been phrased differently if he was deceased at the time of his daughter's marriage?

If her father had been dead at the time of her marriage, the entry would usually have contained "weiland" (meaning "once upon a time", or "former" ) in this or a different writing form or an abbreviation of this, like "weil.", "weyl.", "weÿl.", all with or without the "l", or just "w." before his name (or in this case his profession)
 
Thank you - that is what I thought but I worried I was making an assumption.

Seems so strange to me that in paging through the Worrstadt book (1652-1747), I never saw the name ZIMMER, but this could be my lack of ability at reading the script.

I saw one possibility - the death of Maria Catharina Zimmer in 1718, but I'm not sure:

By the way...
Did you search the death registers in a different town?...?
The marriage you requested for reading assistance was from Obermoschel, the death record you did post is from Wörrstadt.
I am a little confused now...., but have to admit that I am not familiär with those towns or this region at all

I am afraid I am getting to old to pursue this research! I have spent the last week studying Worrstadt and apparently I got confused.

I will do the search again in Obermoschel - and apologize for my error. But I am so glad you pointed out my mistake.
