Line 16. Martin Müller(s) and Anna Elisabeth Zietz(en) had a son named, Johann Carl Ludwig. He was born on 7 Feb 1764 and baptized on 13 Feb 1764. I have been trying to understand why I keep seeing Soldat? What does it mean? Soldier? Musketeer soldier? Anything else I may miss? Thank you, Laurie.

there is no(!) general „rule“ or similar that children of soldiers always have 7 godparents

It’s simply the case here, however that cannot be generalized.

I didn't mean to cause the conclusion that there was a tradition to have 7 godfathers, when you were a soldier, I was just meaning to translate this specific entry. Sorry if this was misleading.
