How do I narrow down where my ancestors information would be? I know both grandparents were born in Bavaria and were catholic as far as I know. I use the word lightly because I’m not a 100% convinced that we were always catholic. My grandfather was obviously a Bauer and my grandmother a Brukker/Brucker/Brucher so many different ways I’ve seen it spelt. Thank you for any tips. Also I have a confirmation certificate that I can’t make out the name of person or parish. Can you search by certificate number in the archives? Thanks again.
