Please can you read these two marriages? I am struggling to connect the Bierwirths as possible cousins. At first I thought the two Bierwirth father's names were the same (and they might be siblings), but now I am not sure. Thank you

This is a birth record for Christiane Elisabeth Bierwirth in 1793, #14, but here the father is Johann Jacob. So I think name is just a coincidence.

No, the asterix does not indicate a death - I am afraid, but instead is the genealogical sign for a birth - here: it provides the day of birth for groom and for bride.

I was also got confused by 1793 birth record. I will ignore that.
