Hi. This looks like the marriage of Christian Friedrich Matthes, can you confirm that and the date, and name of his wife. I believe was born in 1841 but am not sure this tallies with the record.

That isn't what I was looking for but close. I'm looking for the marriage of Christian Friedrich Matthes born 26 March 1841 to a lady named Magdilina. Marriage about 1860 - 1865. But thank you for translating. Regards, Karen.

No, this marriage does not apply to the Christian Friedrich Matthes having being discussed in these most recent posts. Sorry.

Please check the first column, telling details about the groom, near it's very end - here it says:

year of birth: 1842 - not 1841 // day of birth: March 6 - not March 26

And it also does not tell anything about a previous marriage of this gentleman.

Thank you and apologies. I don't speak German at all and therefore sometimes pick up records that are close to what I am looking for but not actually right. I do appreciate hugely your help and you have enabled me to cover 15 generations of my family. I am trying to tie up loose ends now. Trying to go back further and find the parents of one Martin Matthes, and also looking for an elusive Alfred Matthes, who appears in a Census 1911 record in the UK as a German National age 25, but nowhere else I can find. I think he may be the grandson of Christian Friedrich Matthes hence seeking his marriage records in this request. Thank you so much and please bear with me, I have nearly finished!
