I am still in Gedern (Hesse) and still speak no German! I am looking for some help on surname suffixes. I am trying to find the six children of Johannes Lambmann, but my problem is that there are three Johannes Lambmanns having children then, and even one Johannes Landmann!
Anyway, I have one record for my guy for a daughter Anna Kunigunda born in 1811 and it looks like there might be a suffix for him -- Johannes Lambman des langen -- http://www.archion.de/p/08c7629de0/
Is this a suffix? Does it translate as "the long" and perhaps means he was tall? Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Thanks in advance!
