You wanted to know why / if people (can) have 2 achternamen / family names.

Answer: they only have one family name, but have an additional name in order to differentiate families with the same family name from each other, or because they resided on a farm which was in former times owned by family ABC and the new owner "adopts" this well known name, or because they have a nick name etc. etc.

These are so-called AKA (also known as) names, Genannt-Namen, Hofnamen, Vulgonamen.

Hoi Vera. Dank je wel . Ik hoop dat mijn stamboom een beetje klopt. Soms heb je een sterfdatum en kan ik nergens het dopen terug vinden . Of een huwelijk van bleeke of luecke terugvinden. Er ontbreken ook wat bladen uit het kerkboek. Zeker tussen 1716 en 1720. Van welke bleeke stam jij af?

Ik kan niet altijd goed oud duits lezen. Ik had eerste catharina quette als vrouw van johann cord maar dacht hij vernoemd geen (klein) kind naar catharina . Maar gezien de doopgetuige cordt quette heb ik het toch maar weer aangepast. Het valt niet mee met alle naamvarianten van bleeke. Ik dacht dat er lueke stond bij het Huwelijk in 1770 . alle hulp is welkom, ik wil het zo goed mogelijk uit zoeken, maar moet het zonder hulp doen.
o vreselijk nou heb ik alles voor niks gedaan met de luekes, ik kan nergens een geboorte terug vinden van johann arend bleeken uit 1741
