Taufe ohne Kindernamen?

Gottfried Püschel is the father of this daughter.

The given names of this child are not provided.

Thank you, Vera! I've seen others like this one. Was it common to not provide the name of a child on the baptism at this time? Plus, I haven't found his daughter Elisabeth Püschel's baptism, so I believe this can be her, although she'd be probably too young to marry in 1701 (at 14 years old). What do you think?

No, it was not common.
One possibility is, that this child died on day of baptism or very short after that.
However, that's not the case here.

That said, a very trivial explanation may have been that it was simply forgotten to record the child's given name.

I'd say: Be extremely careful with assumptions like the above. Without very close and detailed analysis this cannot be answered at all.

One approach for verification may be to find Elisabeth Püschel's death record first. In case her age at death may be provided, you may come up with a calculated date of birth.....

It's still very likely that she got the name of one of her godmothers, maybe in combination with another name. So you might look for Henrietta, Catharina or Margaretha as one of her given names.

You're right, Vera. Thank you for all the tips. Our access to the records is comming to an end, but, after a break for other researches, we'll buy a new ticket to continue investigating this.

Hi, Eggi! How are you?

That's true. Se we can investigate this child even if she's not the one we're looking for, which will help us (dis)prove the assumption. Thanks, Eggi!

Oh, that's wonderful! Thank you so much, Vera!

Let me ask. Is her name "Marien" or is this "n" in the end part of German language declination?

bride‘s given name: Marie or Maria

I only provided this marriage record to bring the possible time frame to your attention where to search for the „missing“ daughter.
